சர்தார்படேல் (1875 1950 அவர்களின 136வது பிறந்தநாள் கொண்டாட்டம் மற்றும் இணைதள போட்டியில் வென்றவர்களுக்கு பரிசளிக்கும் விழா
சர்தார்படேல் 136வதுபிறந்தநாள்கொண்டாட்டம்: அக்டோபர் 31 சர்தார் வல்லபாய் படேலுடைய 136வது பிறந்த தினமாகும். வழக்கம் போல ஊடகங்கள் கூட ஒன்றும் கண்டு கொள்ளவில்லை. நேரு மட்டும் ஒப்புக் கொண்டிருந்தால், காஷ்மீரப் பிரச்சினையே இல்லாமல் சர்தார் செய்திருப்பார். ஆனால், அமைதிய்ல்லாத பகுதிகள் என்ரு அறிவிக்கப்பட்டு அங்கு ராணுவம் அமைதி காக்கவேண்டிய நிலை உருவாகியுள்ளது. இந்நிலையில் ராணுவத்தின் சிறப்பு அதிகாரச் சட்டத்தை நீக்க வேண்டும் என்று உமர் அப்துல்லா சொல்ல, அதைப் பற்றி தேவையில்லாத விவாதத்தை வைத்துள்ளனர்.
இப்பொழுதுள்ள இந்தியா உருவானது: சர்தார் படேல் இல்லையென்றால், இப்பொழுதைய இந்தியா இல்லை, அதாவது 565 சிறிய-சிறிய ராஜசமஸ்தானைகளை (princely states) இணைத்து ஒரு புதிய இந்தியாவை உருவாக்கினர். ஆனால், இன்று யாரும் அவரை, குறிப்பாக எந்த இந்தியனும் நினைப்பதாக தெரியவில்லை. இன்று 31-10-2011, சர்தார் படேல் சாலையில், சென்னை ராஜ்பவனுக்கு எதிரில் சிலர் அவர் சிலைக்கு மாலைப்போட்டு மரியாதை செய்தபோது, யாரும் கண்டுகொண்டதாகத் தெரியவில்லை. வண்டிகள் மட்டும் வேகமாக சென்று வந்து கொண்டிருந்தன. சிலர் கார் சன்னல்களின் வழியாக எட்டி வேடிக்கைப் பார்த்துக் கொண்டே ஒட்டிச் சென்றனர். அந்த சிலை வைக்க தற்போதைய முதலமைச்சர் ஜெயலலிதா, அப்பொழுதைய கவர்னர் ராம்மோஹன் ராவ் சொல்ல அனுமதி கொடுத்தார் என்று விழா ஏற்பாடு செய்தவர்களில் ஒருவர் நினைவு கூர்ந்தார்.
சர்தார் படேல் எவ்வாறு ஹைதரபாதை வெற்றிக் கொண்டார்? ஆங்கிலேயர் இந்தியாவிற்கு சுதந்திரத்தை அளித்தாலும், அதனுடன் பல பிரச்சினகளையும் சேர்த்து அளித்தார்கள். ஹைதராபாத் நிஜாம் பாகிஸ்தானுடன் சேர்ந்து கொள்வேன் அல்லது தனது ராஜ்யம் முன்றாவது டொமினியனாக செயல்படும் என்று அறிவித்தார். இந்தியாவின் மீது போர் தொடுக்க ஏற்பாடு செய்து கொண்டிருந்தார். வழக்கம் போல அந்நிய சக்திகள் இந்தியாவிற்கு எதிராக வேலை செய்து கொண்டிருந்தன. ஆனால், சர்தார் “ஆபரேஷன் போலோ” என்ற திட்டத்தில் உரிய நடவடிக்கை எடுத்து, நிஜாமைப் பணியச் செய்தார்.
லட்சத்தீவை எவ்வாறு இந்தியாவுடன் சேர்த்தார்? லட்சதீவுகளிலும் முஸ்லீம்கள் அதிகமாக இருந்தனர். விட்டிருந்தால் அவர்களும் பாகிஸ்தானுடன் சேர்ந்திருப்பர் அல்லது பாகிஸ்தான் சொந்தம் கொண்டாடியிருக்கும். ஆனால், பிரச்சினை தோன்றுவதற்கு முன்னமே, இந்தியக் கடற்படையினரிடம் சொல்லி, அத்தீவுகளில் இந்தியக் கொடிகளை ஏற்றச் சொன்னார்.
இணைதள போட்டியில் வென்றவர்களுக்கு பரிசுகள்: மாலை பாரதீய வித்யா பவனில் நடந்த நிகழ்ச்சியில் நல்ல ஆட்சி / நிர்வாகம் (Good Governance), ஒழுக்கம் என்றால் என்ன (What is Integrity) போன்ற தலைப்புகளில் நடந்த அகில இந்திய கட்டுரைப் போட்டிகளில் வென்ற பதினைந்து மாணவர்களுக்கு பரிசுகள் கொடுக்கப்பட்டன. பங்கு கொண்டவர்கள் எல்லாமே முக்கியமானவர்கள்தாம். முந்தைய அதிகாரி பி. ராகவன் ஐ.ஏ.எஸ் (ஓய்வு), முந்தைய தலைமை செயலர், என். விட்டல் ஐ.ஏ.எஸ் (ஓய்வு), முந்தைய மத்திய விஜிலன்ஸ் கமிஷனர், கிருஷ்ணமூர்த்தி ஐ.ஏ.எஸ் (ஓய்வு), நாராயணசுவாமி (பிரபல ஆடிட்டர்) என்று பலர் கலந்து கொண்டனர்.
கட்டுரைப் போட்டிகளின் விவரங்கள்: சர்தார் வல்லபாய் படேல் நினைவு டிரஸ்ட் மற்றும் பாரதீய வித்யா பவன் சிவ்-ஜி (SIV G) வருடந்தோரும் www.siv-g.org என்ற இணைதளத்தில் ஆன்-லைன் கட்டுரைப் போட்டிகள் நடத்துகிறார்கள். 21 வயதிலுள்ள பள்ளி-கல்லூரி மாணவி-மாணவியர் யார் வேண்டுமானாலும் கலந்து கொள்ளலாம். முதல் மூன்று பரிசுகள் – ரொக்கப்பரிசுகள் (ரூ.5000, 3000 மற்றும் 1000), தவிர 12 ஆறுதல் பரிசுகளும் கொடுக்கப்படுகின்றன.
சர்தார் படேலை மறப்பதேன்? இன்றைய இந்தியாவின் வரைப்படம் இப்படி இருக்கிறது என்றால் அதற்கு சர்தார் வல்லபாய் படேல் தான் காரணம். ஒவ்வொரு வருடமும் அக்டோபர் 24-31 வாரத்தை “விஜிலென்ஸ் அவேர்னஸ் வீக்” (Vigilance Awareness Week) என்று கொண்டாடும் மத்திய அரசு அலுவலகங்கள் கூட இந்நாள் அவரது பிறந்த நாள், அதை நினைவில் கொள்ளும் வகையில் தான் இவ்வாரம் அவ்வாறாகக் கொண்டாடப் படுகிறது என்பதனை ஒருவேளை அறியாதிருப்பர். ஏனெனில் காங்கிரஸ்காரர்களே அவரை அவ்வாறு இருட்டடிப்புச் செய்கின்றனர். காங்கிரஸுக்குலுள்ள, குறிப்பாக நேரு ஆதாரவாளர்கள் பட்டேலைப் பற்றி மூச்சுக்கூட விடுவதில்லை. உண்மையில் காந்தி சொன்னதற்காக, படேல் பல தடவை விட்டுக் கொடுத்திருக்கிறார். குறிப்பாக, சுதந்திரத்திற்கு முன்பாக காங்கிரஸின் தலைவர் பதவிக்கு படேலிற்குதான் அதிக அளவில் ஆதரவு இருந்தது. அதாவது உள்ள 16 அங்கத்தினர்களில் 13 பேர் படேலையும், ஒருவர் நேருவையும் ஆதரித்தனர். இருப்பினும் காந்தி சொன்னதற்காக, படேல் விட்டுக் கொடுத்தார். அதாவது, சுதந்திரம் கிடைத்தப் பிறகு காங்கிரஸ் தலைவர் தான் பிரதம மந்திரி பதவியைப் பெறுவார் என்று அறிந்தும் விட்டுக் கொடுத்தார். அவர் இறந்தபோது, இறுதி யாத்திரையின் போது 1500க்கும் மேற்பட்ட ஐஏ.எஸ், ஐ.பி.எஸ் அதிகாரிகள் வந்திருந்து இறுதி மரியாதை செய்தனர். ஏனெனில் அவர்களுக்கு படேலுடைய நிர்வாகம், ஆளுமை, உறுதி முதலியவற்றைக் கண்டு அவ்வளவு மதிப்பு, மரியாதை. ஆனால், அவருக்கு 1991ல் தான் “பாரத் ரத்னா” கொடுக்கப்பட்டது!

BJP forgets Sardar Patel’s birth anniversary
The BJP never tires of portraying Sardar Patel, whose birth anniversary was observed on Monday, as one of the tallest leaders of India.
But no senior representative of the party attended the annual function held at Parliament’s Central Hall to mark the occasion. Sushma Swaraj and Arun Jaitley, the party’s leaders in the two Houses too gave it the miss.
Besides Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Speaker Meira Kumar, a number of Union ministers were present, on the occasion.

NEW DELHI: Opposition BJP on Monday sought to embarrass the ruling Congress by taking a dig at the government for “belittling” the country’s first home minister Sardar Patel by issuing only one advertisement to mark his birth anniversary as compared to “dozens” remembering former PM Indira Gandhi. “These efforts at belittling Patel are unacceptable. BJP pays the highest tributes and recalls the historical work accomplished by the first Home Minister, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel,” BJP spokesperson Prakash Javadekar said.
Congress and several Union ministries had issued numerous prominent advertisements in newspapers on Monday to observe the martyrdom day of former PM Indira Gandhi but there was only one advertisement dedicated to Sardar Patel whose 136th birth anniversary was observed on Monday.
BJP holds Patel in high esteem and often highlights the fact that the Nehru-Gandhi dynasty dominates the Congress’ politics at the cost of ignoring other leaders like Patel. At least two BJP leaders – L K Advani and Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi – have tried to fashion themselves on him.
Congress too attacked BJP, saying none of its leaders were present in Parliament on Monday to pay respects to Patel. The charge was refuted by the BJP. “This is worst kind of cheap politics. I myself paid tributes to Sardar Patel in Parliament on today. I also stood in silence for two minutes before going for the PAC meeting,” Javadekar said.
He shot back, saying Congress should refrain from resorting to such gimmicks and cheap politics.

NEW DELHI: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday lambasted the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government for “belittling” the contribution of India’s first home minister Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel by issuing “only one advertisement” to mark his birth anniversary while releasing “dozens of advertisements” in tribute to former prime minister Indira Gandhi on her martyrdom day.
“It is a matter of great regret that UPA government thought it fit to issue only one formal advertisement to pay respect to Shri Sardar Patel while it issued dozens of advertisements in honour of Indira Gandhi. These efforts at evaluating Patelji in lesser light are unacceptable,” BJP spokesperson Prakash Javadekar said. He said “BJP bows its head in reverence to Patel and remembers the historical work done by him”.
Patel was born on Oct 31, 1875 and Monday was his 136th birth anniversary. Several union ministries and Congress party had issued prominent advertisements in newspapers Monday to pay respects to Indira Gandhi on her martyrdom day.
Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pawan Kumar Bansal said that ministries had issued advertisements on their own and no directions had been issued.
Congress leaders, however, claimed that BJP leaders were not present at the function held in Parliament to pay respects to Patel. The charge was refuted by the BJP.
