How Kabir takes two “avatars”!

As my Philatelist friend points out, Kabir appears as follows:

kabir-stamp-370x630

This was issued 35 years back.

However, in the later issued stamp (2004), Kabir appears as follows:

Kabir

The differences have been:

1. The prominently appearing peacock disappeared in the 2004-stamp.

2. The Vaishnavite mark disappeared.

3. Indian Head-gear changed to “Mohammedan” style-head-gear.

4. Beard is also made to appear more Islamic!

Thus, “Kabir” has been secularized or rather “Islamized”!
